Special-interest Activity & Arts Holidays in Morocco
Morocco is brimming with colourful traditions rooted in it’s ethnic mix of Berber, African and Arabic culture. The indigenous crafts of Morocco have been sought-after worldwide for centuries. We at SheherazadVentures want to give you an opportunity to not only see these arts and crafts on display, but to bring your own creative ideas and skills to Morocco to experience it in a hands-on way and interact with local artisans and musicians from the Sahara region.
We have designed a number of escorted special-interest arts holidays in Morocco for those interested in photography, music and pottery. These trips are run just ONCE per year as an open group, but are available upon request at any time for groups of 4 or more participants. These arts and crafts tours are led by an English-speaking leader/tutor as appropriate along with a local guide.
In addition we also offer adventure tours that include rock-climbing instruction aimed at beginners and novice climbers.
For those interested in Moroccan cuisine and cookery, we have designed a short break Cooking, Hiking and Shopping that includes a one-day cookery school as well as visits to the spice markets of Marrakech, traditional lunch in a Berber village and an optional 5-course tasting tour of the street food of Marrakech.
A week-long photography holiday to Morocco touring from Marrakech into the Sahara desert via the High Atlas Mountains and oases of the Draa Valley with acclaimed photographer Ben Pipe.
A 9-day escorted arts holiday in Morocco by 4WD from Marrakech, over the High Atlas Mountains, to the edge of the Sahara. Holiday includes 3 days of pottery making at the famous Tamegroute co-operative of Berber artisans.
